On the other side of the tree line outside of our house is a path. I've walked this path many times and finally I get to ride this path with my new bike and a little bundle of cuteness trailing behind me. We head out in the morning hours. Not early, not late. That time when you realize that most people have been stuffed behind desks for a few hours now and you feel guilty about that, but then realize you should enjoy your time now because you too have been stuck behind a desk plenty of time before. In your old life. The path is quiet. We seem to be the only ones around this hour and all we hear are the birds singing among the trees. I enjoy every single bit of this path ride. He sits quietly in back, enjoying the wind, enjoying the ride. We travel in silence mostly, just taking in the passing trees and the dances of sunlight among them. In this ride, I have no regrets. No regrets of leaving an old life behind to be here in these kind of moments.

My Foot Is Down
It seems right after July 4, the summer starts to dwindle. Come this time, society and the media want to tell you it's over. Back to school commercials and signage at any retail store scream that the clock is ticking and that Fall is pushing Summer out the door. Excuse me, but Summer doesn't officially end until September 22 this year. That is a little less than 2 months away! Two months left of all our Summer favorites. Yes, we may be amid a "steamy soup" of a Summer (I despise that term, but heard it last night on the news and thought it was a pretty good description), but it is Summer no less.
My son is not yet in school, so maybe I will have to conform to the ol' back to school ritual in just a few short years, but I'm hanging on to dear ol' Summer until then. I am putting my foot down and enjoying all those things I love about Summer and trying my best to enjoy the melt your face off temps suffocating you the moment you walk out the door. So, there you have it Summer. Bring it on, girl!

Time For A Visual Change
'Tis the time to change up the face of my blog. I like to change things in my life frequently to keep any aspect of it from getting stale. I put in a few hours this weekend choosing a new blog template and photo header. I added in some navigation at the top where you'll see About Me, Etsy Shop and Adoption Blog buttons. Just trying to declutter the blog face a little. Hope you like the changes. I hope it inspires me to blog a little more too! Have a great week!

A Little Pick Me Up
I could have used any of these being yelled at me this week. Loud and right smack in front of me so I would be sure not to miss them.
I am not a has-been. I am a will be. ~Lauren Bacall
Nobody can make you feel inferior without your consent. - Eleanor Roosevelt
You have brains in your head.
You have feet in your shoes.
You can steer yourself in any direction you choose.
You're on your own.
And you know what you know.
You are the guy who'll decide where to go.
~Dr. Seuss
When there is no enemy within, the enemies outside cannot hurt you. ~African Proverb
Here's to the weekend and Friday morning! A new day and a new chance to start all over again.

Counting Down
17 days and counting! Kanrocksas has taken over our household. Lucky for me, I'm not marketing it. However, our world of co-parenting has shifted slightly as I rearrange the daily schedule so that Josh can go to meeting after meeting for it. I've always wanted to put together a documentary of how concerts and festivals of this size come together. To give everyone a glimpse of what it entails to book the artists and produce something of this size. It's exhausting and beyond time consuming, but so very interesting to see it come together.
Check out the latest line up!
