It's nice to have a moment to not be conflicted. To accept what flows towards me. To know everything changes. To know that is alright. To take a moment to play in the sandbox when the house is a mess. When I'm right smack in the middle of more than 1 project. When I'm not at a stopping point for any of them. Take your moment. Sometimes, not all the time. Just when the moment is right. Right may sometimes be messy, but right is right.

Jimmy Hunt
Okay, so we're totally outnumbered by pets and both of us swear we will not get anymore pets. 3 dogs and 2 cats is PLENTY and keeps us busy and requires a lot of prep work before going out of town or even to Kansas City for the day. We got to figure in the weather if we're gonna leave the big dogs outside and usually have to call on our pet loving friend to come check on them during the day if we are gone for several hours at once. With this being said, why the heck am I wondering if we should adopt this new little guy that we recently met? My sister is a dog groomer and often fosters rescued dogs before they go to a forever family. She brought home this Jack Russell / Chihuahua mix late last week. Never in my life have I seen a dog SOOO skinny. He goes by Slim Jim (which we have renamed him as Jimmy Hunt, well I threw in the Hunt part...oops). Someone found him wandering in a parking lot, barely able to walk. She was kind enough to pay for his vet bills, but couldn't keep him. I take a moment to send thank yous and well wishes to her for her kindness as his vet bill was not cheap! Anyways, he spent the weekend with us when my sister came over and I know he would fit perfectly into our family. Each day he's getting better and stronger, but my GOD...how did his happen for him to get so sick? I guess the vet team that worked on him said they never saw a dog so close to death that made it through. Jimmy is a miracle! Dang it, Jimmy! I know we shouldn't take on another dog. I do KNOW this, but I can't stop thinking about Jimmy Hunt. Check out the photos. A little shocking, but he's getting better quickly.

A Summer Finale
Today is the last day of summer and I'm ready to say goodbye. It was an amazing summer of pool time and lemonade, but also suffocating, drawn out HEAT. I wanted to cherish it and I did. However, I have to say that I am so anxiously looking forward to fall this year. Why?
Here's why:
- Sweaters, jeans and my black rain boots. A favorite fall outfit.
- Smores, smores, smores.
- Hot Apple Cider
- My Electric Blanket
- Daydreaming of a Farm House, land and chickens. A real Kansas girl life. Could it be a possibility down the road??
- Even more excited to throw down house ideas on paper...just in case that daydream can come together some day.
- My munchkin all bundled up in a coat so overbearing he can barely walk. It's the cutest thing ever!
- Chiminea fires and even better...the smell of a fire.
- A road trip to Colorado to see Portishead!
So, thank you Summer for all your amazing, unforgettable, hot, slow days you gave us...
My favorite day of summer...Kanrocksas festival. My sisters and me (and my dear friend, Erin in the background :)
I absolutely love the 4th of July.
First pool party of the summer.
First autumn weather walk...yesterday. G is now smiling for photos. Love the effort! By the way, I'm still insisting that my Radio Flyer red wagon is one of my best purchases ever.

Restless Night
Just when it seemed like it was all coming to a head, a restless night ended up pushing reset. I was never so content that I couldn't sleep. Back in the day, we would have gotten up and gone to IHOP in the wee hours of the morning. It began with horrible dreams and ended up with some long awaited rain. We really needed it. The rain and the night.
